Communicating and playing with your child is the basic way you show your care and love, isn’t it?

  1. Consistency

A child watches how people respond to her behaviors. I f she sees people are happy with what she does, she thinks that she is  doing good. But if people respond unpleasantly, she thinks she might be doing something wrong. This is why parents have to be right in how they respond so there should be consistency.

  1. Short and Stern

Of course a child can not easily comprehend with your instructions. How much more if you give long and complex ones? They can speak 2-3 word sentences, so you can also do that as a strategy. Use 2-3-word instructions and repeat the instruction twice or even thrice. This will help them absorb the importance of what you are trying to tell them.

  1. Control Emotion

Some parents are emotional especially if they can not bear their child’s misbehaving. A child can not understand well what you want them to do, plus you startle them by shouting at them, what she heard from you will soon vanish from her mind. The best thing to do is to look at her eye to eye and sternly say what you want her to do.

  1. Positive Mindset

Your children should see you behaving well. Nagging your children is definitely a wrong way to raise child. Your child will see it as you habit and will do the same thing repeatedly although you shout in front of them. They will learn nagging too when they grow up.

  1. Advancement

You should be advance in correcting your child’s misbehaving.  When a child tries to wet a doormat, say no and show a rejecting gesture, if she continues, just take away any liquid from her hand before you lose your temper.

  1. Positive Reinforcement- Carry out positive reinforcement for children so they would be repeating the good ones they are doing. Showing how you reward your child for good behaviour will help your child polish her actions
